However, he finds out that the club is currently inactive due to a lack of members. He tries to recruit the necessary number of members to restart the club, but he fails to gather enough people.
At that time, Sakamichi is challenged to a bicycle race by his classmate, Shunsuke Imaizumi. For Imaizumi, who was active in bicycle racing in middle school, the sight of Sakamichi climbing a steep slope of more than 20% gradient on a city bike while singing was “unbelievable.”
