In a run-down apartment, art students Takemoto, Mayama, and Morita lead a fun but impoverished life.
One day, the three are introduced to a small, lovely girl named Hagumi by Hanamoto, a faculty member at the Hamadayama Art University they attend, who is also the cousin of Hagumi’s father.
Upon seeing the innocent Hagumi, both Takemoto and Morita fall in love with her in an instant. Takemoto, who is straightforward and clumsy to the point of being frustrating, and Morita, who confuses those around him with his overly complicated approach, express their love in completely opposite ways.
As their expressions of love intertwine, time passes without Morita, Takemoto, or even Hagumi realizing each other’s feelings.
